Don't say never

Life's sooo full of surprises and man is ever soo fickle.

Despite the efforts of marketing personnel and their focus groups, getting the right product still requires luck. And then you have the poor football managers, where some poor UK bloke lamented that the fans thinks that you are only as good as your last game. Politicians also have their share of difficulty coaxing votes, unless your idea of democracy is dictated by your own style.

My point is, people are so prone to changes. We observe that things change, other people change. Unknowingly, we ourselves change as well. But we still expect people to stick by what they have said or done before. 'He didn't used to be like that ... ' or 'She said she would love me forever' .. right? Well, they changed didn't they? How many times did we change our minds as well?

So don't ever proclaim, insistently, loudly, proudly, giving yourself a point of no return, that you will never ever do this. Unless of coz it's something understandable like 'I would never work for the devil'.

Don't declare you would never use MSN, and then you changed your mind.
Don't declare you would never blog. Blogging is for lonely losers, you said. Then you started a blog and today, your fren describes you as 'blogging furiously'.
Don't say you would never date a person like her.
Don't say you would never do such a thing if you were that person. You are not in his shoes, you've never been.
Don't say you would never get married. Don't say you would never have kids.
Don't say you would never speed. Don't say you wouldn't drink and drive. Don't say you wouldn't smoke.
Don't say you would never watch a horror movie despite it being an invitation by a hot date.

Because you wouldn't know for sure. Because your circumstances could be different already. Still, don't let your past actions or words bind you so tightly. Consistency and predictability is not a common trait of the human species. Frankly speaking, there's no need for you to be exceptional, unless you are aiming to be exceptional, then, there's a lot for you to cover. Till you reach your goals, don't say never.
