I thought I would hate the presence of the karaoke machine at the kelong. It sort of ... spoils the overall rustic feel of the place. I'm also afraid that wannabes would sing through the night and I would not be able sleep. It didn't help that I sleep NEXT to the ktv 'lounge'.

Thank goodness for 'Pat'. She sang really well, so did her boyfriend as well. She sang while her bf got busy courting the sotongs. I think she could pass off as a lounge singer anytime. Drinking beer on the kelong, enjoying the incessant breeze and her singing is really some sort of 'high life'. She's quite a sporting babe, coz when the M'sia bengs wanted to listen to some Hokkien numbers, she gamely obliged and belted out many classic 黄乙玲's hits. And oh my ... she could sing so well in Cantonese and in Chinese as well. Most importantly, she did justice to all 梁静茹 songs she sang. Hmm ... no wonder nobody else dared to sing ... the 'ktv queen' was there ...

I must have heard this song before, but it probably didn't leave much impression on me, and I wouldn't have guessed its name correctly anyway. Luckily chiangkee is some sort of Chinese songs dictionary, or we can call him an encyclopedia instead. He explained that <夜夜夜夜> is so named, as it depicts the loneliness a heart-brokened lover feels in the deepest of the night. Great piece of work for both lyrics and music from 熊天平. Here's a live concert version by my favourite singer, 梁静茹.

This song was "Pat"'s last before I blacked out on my bed. The feeling was great to sleep on this song. It felt like eternity when she sang this song in my semi-conscious state, and when it ended, eternity suddenly felt so short.”
